The vineyards and crêperies of…Wisconsin

We had a clay class in Cedarburg a couple of weeks ago. While we were there Cal noticed there was a winery in the same building and he wanted to go on a tour. The winery worker was nice enough to give us a little unofficial tour for free. She showed us the big barrels they used to use to age wine and let Cal crawl inside. The barrels have a small hole that a person could slide into feet first to mop out the barrel between uses. Cal was the perfect size for a demonstration:

After our little tour we stopped at the Cream and Crepe Cafe for lunch and dessert. Our server was Swiss and we spoke a little in French about my

plans for our French vacation and her planned trip to Switzerland with her daughter this summer. There aren’t a lot of opportunities to practice French with strangers around here so that was a nice surprise.
