Looking forward: Cal and Nova

“I really want to see Paris. I heard it looks like a movie set: colorful and surreal. I’m also excited for the food, especially the bread and the sandwiches. I’d like to see the wildlife. I’d like to go to Switzerland since that is nearby and I’d like to cross the border on foot and film myself crossing the border. I’d also like to see a farm if we can but I’d be happy to go anywhere. I’d like to learn more about French history so I’d like to go to a historical museum, too.” ~Cal

Honestly, I’m most excited to take Cal to France. He will remember the most about the trip and probably gain the most from the experience. He will become a teenager while we are there. They say time flies when you have kids and it’s hard for Nole and me to believe that we have been parents for almost 13 years. Before we know it he will be an adult and out on his own.

On the other end of the spectrum is Nova who may or may not remember the trip. The benefits are that she has no preconceived notions about France and her mind is like a sponge. She may surprise us all and come home speaking French better than any of the rest of us.
