The umpteenth day of Christmas

We were at my work volunteering today and Nova found this book on their bookshelf and was “reading” it for a long time.

She found a picture inside and brought the book to me and asked “Where is this place?”.

I told her it was in Strasbourg and that we were going there, in France, with Grandma Kay. She was really excited. Of course I didn’t burst her bubble and tell her it won’t be Christmas time when we are there. Hopefully, with it being the Christmas capital of the world, we will find a little Christmas in May.

We are not religious but we can appreciate the fun and the traditional aspects of the Christmas season as well as the opportunity to see friends and family. Especially for the kids, it’s hard to let it go at the end of the year (January is awfully dull in comparison!). Our tree is still up and we still have several more Christmas/New Year celebrations. This Saturday we will celebrate with my dad’s family and we will see Nole’s grandparents next weekend. We hope to have some game nights with friends this month too. That will definitely combat the winter blues.

Happy New Year everyone!
