Pass’Alsace, Day 3, Cigoland

From Monkey Mountain we headed to Cigoland (Storkland). We previously had thought we would go to Europa Park but then it seemed kind of expensive and maybe too big of a place / better for older kids. When we saw that the Pass’Alsace offered Cigoland we jumped at the chance because it seemed like it had lots to do, even for Nova. First we went on the monorail which gave us a tour of the park from above. It also got us up close and personal with storks and their babies. They had a crazy big playground. They had this cool sensory course that the kids were supposed to do without shoes. There were different substrates to walk on including pinecones, hay, rocks, logs… At the end they had a giant stork’s nest where kids could leave their pacifiers (a great idea for kids giving them up!).They had a lot of really unique amusement park rides.BBelow is Cal, Nova and me on the King Kong ride. A giant plush King Kong lifts you in a cage and then sets you back down again. We really liked the mine train rollercoaster. Since we were one of the only families at the park we rode it over and over again. The ride operators would wait until we approached to run the ride. When there was no one riding, they would do maintenance like weeding and painting. The kids also loved the carousel and rode it several times. We came home and the boys and I went out for dinner and dessert. We went to “Cup Avenue” which is a Thai fast food place. The flavors were different than we were used to but it was tasty. On the way home we picked up a crêpe glacée to bring home and share. It was a sweet finish to a great day.
