Sunday, May 26th
Today is Mother’s Day in France. It’s also an election day here. All elections in France are held on Sundays.
I made a croissant french toast bake for breakfast.

Then the kids played Nintendo Switch before going outside. The weather is beautiful here again. 74 degrees and sunny.

“Our” house

For lunch Céline made tomates farcies which is tomatoes stuffed with a beef and herb mixture. We enjoyed it very much. I’ll have to try and make this at home.

After a siesta we went to a park near downtown Dijon. We road a surrey and let the kids drive (ahh!).

Earlier I did French braids for all of the girls.
We played on the playground equipment.

And I splurged and let the kids do the ropes course.

Esme started off on the big course but she got scared by the long Zipline so she switched to the little kid course and Nova joined in.

Nova bonded with Céline’s younger daughter today.

We stayed at their house late tonight so she and Nova could play together. We leave at noon on Monday and I have a feeling it will be a difficult parting. We have really enjoyed our time with this family. We have made plans to meet up later this summer before we go back to the US so hopefully that will ease the separation. We also discussed the possibility of them visiting the US sometime (we would love to host them back!).
