…took us to Grenoble.
But first we had breakfast and lunch in the Jura department with Sonya and Vincent.
We also made chocolate chip cookies together using measuring cups and played board games. This unschooling family was a lot of fun. Their kids didn’t speak English but the boys got along and figured things out pretty quickly when playing together. Their daughter was adorable and super smart. Sonya and Vincent speak English very well and we enjoyed our stay there very much!

After saying goodbye, we stopped to see some other homeschoolers in Prémanon. It wasn’t exactly on our way but they took us on a nice walk in the forest and we chatted about homeschool.

Cal playing fetch with Gecko the dog.
Then it was back in the road for a 2.5 hour drive…only we missed our “take a sharp left” turn because I wasn’t sure about taking a dirt road so Google rerouted us and added a hour to our drive (I didn’t notice the added time until later). At least 1.5 hours was mountain driving which made the boys carsick (they wouldn’t listen to me when I advised not using devices on the winding mountain paths). We had to drive slow and take breaks.

Notice the zigzag there in the middle? That was us going up or down a mountain and tlhere were lots of those.

We did get to see the snow capped mountains of the Alps from afar. Pictures from the car by Cal and Asa. It was beautiful but we didn’t want to stop to look, we just wanted to get to Grenoble.

Yay! We are in Grenoble!

We arrived around 9pm and were warmly welcomed by another unschooling family, lead by Boise. Boise is going to be a great teacher for me because she insists I speak French.
