Today is a holiday in France (ascention day) so most shops are closed. Boise and I walked to the bakery this morning to get croissants, pain au chocolat and bread. Bakeries and grocery stores are usually just open for a few hours in the morning on the minor holidays.

The view from our host’s apartment.
We decided a day of rest, showers, and laundry was in order so we spent the morning at home. I made some ramen noodles for the girls for lunch and Tahys had some too. He put ketchup on his. Esme noted that we have seen kids put ketchup on spaghetti too. Asa put ketchup on his rice last week too. I guess kids like ketchup everywhere.
After lunch, Tahys really wanted to show us his dad’s new kitten. His dad, Bruno lives on the same block as his mom so we walked there.

The girls are trying to convince the cat to come out to play.

Finally wore him out enough to pet him.

Asa drinking mint syrup in water. The syrups come in different flavors like grenadine, violet, strawberry, etc and when mixed with water it’s basically a watered down koolaid and it seems to be pretty popular here.
The adults chatted and the kids went to the playground which is just beyond Bruno’s balcony.
We went back to Boise’s apartment for a second lunch for those that didn’t have the first one and a nap.

The kids watched Disney’s Robin Hood while lunch was being made.
After our nap we went to the park (which is in their backyard) to have a drum circle, to play on the playground equipment, climb trees and roll down hills.

Boise let us bring some Playmobil to the park.

Esme says, “Take a picture of us here.”

“Take one without Nova because she’s making a face.”

Then we finally got one the way she wanted:

We came back to the apartment and made a light dinner. Tahys did some practice on his violin and we watched YouTube together which ended with a dance off.
