We left our Airbnb this morning but not before meeting the owner’s cat (she called it a kitten but it looked full-grown to us).

We decided to head for a beach since the weather was perfect (88F and sunny) but first we stopped at a laundromat to finish drying our laundry (we had started the laundry at the Airbnb but her dryer was a bit overwhelmed by our laundry so we found this place instead). While we waited for the laundry, we did a car wash and vacuumed it. It was getting pretty grungy inside thanks to car snacks. Also we have been on a lot of dirt roads so there was mud on the car and lots of dust inside.

I gave the kids a choice of a sandy beach or a rocky beach and they chose the sand. Even though the sand messed up my vacuuming, it was lots of fun. The water was a bit cold but even I went in a ways after sitting in the sun.

Nova made a friend.

We went for a late lunch at Smack which was on the beach. They had ice cream so we had that too.

Nova got lollipop flavor. Last time she got guimauve which is marshmallow. I thought the guimauve tasted more like bubblegum.

Then we went back to the beach to play on the playground and video chat with Dad.

We arrived in Annemasse and settled in with our host family. Our host Hélène had a surprise for us: kittens that were born last night.

Then we walked to the grocery store and back. We accidentally bought a ton of soy yogurt because we thought it was regular yogurt. Oops. After dinner we played some board games. After all of the sun we got today we were pretty tired.
