Pont d’Arc

Friday June 14, 2019

Our plan today was to visit the natural rock bridge along the Ardèche River. First I had to clean up the studio our hosts were letting us use since they have Airbnb guests coming tonight. We are moving into the main house with them for tonight and we leave early tomorrow for the Mediterranean coast.

This snail kept me company while I moved our things.

Then we left for the pont.

I was the passenger today so I took the opportunity to take a short video showing an example of driving on French roads. It had rained this morning but it had cleared up and was hot and sunny when we arrived. The kids got in the water and even I was tempted after laying on the beach for a while.

The boys going out across the river.

Centered on the distant shore is Cal and Asa.

The boys swimming under the pont.

Diane made delicious crêpes for dinner. Diane and her family eat dinner particularly late, usually not before 9pm. We hope to see this family again when they visit the United States.

Edited to add:

I forgot to include pictures of Jean-Claude’s office. He runs a editing and printing business from an office building he built on their property. He showed the kids his machines which include photo copiers, printers, cutting machines, book binding machines, and more. He helped the kids each make a notebook to keep using the machines.
