We slept well on the ferry last night except that Asa turned the air conditioning on full-blast before going to bed and we were all a little cold. The ship arrived at 7 which meant we were all awake by 6:30am.

Breakfast in our cabin before disembarking.

The shore as we approached.

Waiting for our taxi

We forgot our beach mat onboard which is unfortunate. That makes one lost beach mat, lost shampoo, conditioner, and body wash (we lost these twice actually), and one lost hairbrush. We also left a few groceries behind accidentally. I think that’s not so bad for 6 weeks of travel. We have also broken two iPhone chargers that had to be replaced.
We took a cab to the car rental agency and after getting our new car, were welcomed in Ajaccio by our new hosts, Emilie and Jean-François. They have two small children who we got to know today. They showed us to the apartment which will be used by Jean-François’ mother but for now is available.
At our hosts’ house Asa spotted this lemon tree and wanted to steal a lemon. Turns out stealing was not necessary because the tree belonged to Emilie’s parents.

Once at the apartment, we had big plans to do something (see the city, go to a beach) but instead we took a day to relax and make our plans for the next three days.

Lunch of chicken noodle soup.
Emilie invited us over for dinner so we headed over there for some pool time and play before eating. I made pasta for dinner, Emilie made the fried zucchini flowers pictured below and Jean-François made a Corsican cheese cake with local cheese. Everything was delicious and we came home with full bellies.

Making more lemonade before dinner.
Earlier this week the kids made some Father’s day posters for Nole. We miss him more everyday and can’t wait until he joins us in less than 2 weeks.
