Les Bains de Llo

Saturday, June 22

I’ve had some trouble uploading photos which is why all of my posts are a day behind.

Les Bains de Llo is the name of the geothermal baths. Llo is the name of the town and it’s pronounced “yo”.

I don’t have a lot of pictures from today. This morning we slept in, played and rested. After lunch the kids and I went to one of the local geothermal pools. There are several in the area and we chose this one based on proximity since we didn’t want a long drive through the mountains.

It was kind of expensive (about $60 for all of us to go) but I really liked it. It was a cool but sunny day and not really warm enough for a normal pool. These pools are 35C/95F so it’s nice and warm but not too hot for kids.

The pools are fed by natural springs and are rich in sulphur. I was worried the kids would complain about the smell but it was pretty mild and they didn’t even mention it. They only said it smelled like a Disney World ride.

On the way home, we stopped to look at the solar furnace. It is very eye-catching. I checked their website but I’m not sure exactly what it does.

I made burgers for dinner tonight and we talked until late before saying goodnight.
