We’re having a heat wave

Today was a travel day. We slept in and then left the boat in La Rochelle for Argentan. We stopped for lunch and to look around Hyper U (similar to Super Walmart). I picked out a few small children’s books in French. Cal needs new earbuds because his are broken but he couldn’t find any he liked so we ordered some on Amazon for Nole to bring when he comes. We are all super excited to see Nole after all this time. We are at 7+ weeks without him and although video chat and the blog has kept us close, we all miss him a lot. He leaves Saturday and we pick him up in Paris on Sunday. We are counting down the days.

Our sunset last night.

Asa took a shower in the port shower building and visited with one of the cats that’s been hanging around the dock.

This morning I had the girls pose in their bed in the front of the ship.

This was Asa’s and my bed.

Cal slept on the pull out couch.

Nova and Esme playing while we stopped at Hyper U.

We arrived in Argentan and met our newest host family. Kirstin and Nolwennig welcomed us around 5:30pm and made a wonderful quiche for dinner. There is still a heat wave in France but we avoided most of it by being in the car. Even still we all felt a little dehydrated and drank lots of water. It is dark now and cooled off to a comfortable temperature for sleeping.

Here is the view from our window tonight.

We are very happy that there is a Lidl grocery store right down the road. Since it’s “American week” at Lidl, we can get some fun stuff from home to share with our hosts.
