Château d’Azey-le-Rideau

We are going to try co-writing some posts.

Jessica:

This morning I went to the bakery and got pain au chocolat and bread for us. We all slept well and Nole got a solid 12 hours.

I saw this free library near the bakery in an old phone booth.

We dropped off the tire to get repaired and went to Lidl for some groceries then came back to our place to make a lunch of hot dogs, buns, and chips. Then Remy took us to see the château.

Esme and I colored her hair back to dark blond on Saturday night as a surprise for Nole.

Nole:

In the morning we saw a black cat climbing trees. At first Esme was afraid it might be mean but was surprised to find it was super nice.

Remy showed us around the local castle, Château d’Azay-le-Rideau. It was very interesting.

Railing carved into the wall

This was a wind up machine that played through a haunting series of actions and scenery.

Yannick told me about his engineering work and then Jessica, he and I went on a long walk around the neighborhood.

These are caves used a long time ago for food and wine.

We saw a few transformers (mostly dry type). The first picture is a rectangular pole mount, rare by us.

Ecological community septic.

This is a religious festival stop point.

Jessica:

Vineyard seen on our walk.

There is another château near the house that is privately owned. Yannick explained how expensive it is to maintain them because they have to follow strict guidelines when repairing or remodeling.

A friendly horse we met before returning to our place.
