Today, Blandine and the kids took us to an animal park called Natural Park. Blandine and I originally met because she gave French lessons to Cal and Asa and later, to me. After she moved back to France, her friend Aurélie took over the adult lessons. Now, Aurélie just left the United States to return to France. I’m so glad that Aurélie and the kids could meet us today!
When we got to the animal park, we went to the corn maze first to get that done before it got too hot out. If the purpose of the maze was to get lost for 30 minutes and the exit where you enter, we did great! Really though, it was my first corn maze and harder than I thought it would be!

The park sells unsalted popcorn to feed to the animals which the kids loved.

Out of order 3-story slide. Don’t worry, there was another 3-story slide that was working and Cal and Asa got to try it.
We stopped to play at a playground in the park. I kept an eye on things while the other adults went back to the car to get the picnic lunches.

Open-air urinals.
After lunch we saw some more animals and played on some of the other play equipment they had.

Cal got bit by a ferret! It didn’t break the skin but it left a tiny bite mark for a few minutes!

Summer tube slide!
After a snack and treat at the park, we went back to Blandine and Johann’s house where we walked the dog, had delicious quiche for dinner, and picked apricots from the neighbor’s tree (with permission).

Nova got a doll passed down from Rémy’s sister and she named her Alaina.

The neighbor’s house is just being built so there were handy piles of fill to climb to reach the apricots.

We will make some jam tomorrow and I’m excited to see how it turns out.
