We knew we wanted to see Madam Tussauds wax museum but the tickets are pricey (about 34£/$42 each). We decided to buy a pack of tickets to see a couple of things in town for a discount instead of the single tickets.

We took public transportation to Sea Life first. I was not super impressed with this aquarium. I thought it was too crowded. I liked the one in La Rochelle much better. The kids enjoyed it though and Nole liked it.

I still love the jellies.

After that we made our way towards Madam Tussauds. Our time slot was 3:30pm and we arrived by the Tube (London’s subway nickname) around 1.

We got lunch from wherever people wanted since there were lots of fast food choices all on the same block then we took our food to Regent’s Park to picnic.

After finishing lunch and feeding the birds we walked around the park.

Triton fountain. The mermaids here had two tails each, basically their legs each ended in a fin.

Interesting bird nest under the bridge with a baby in it.
Then it was time for the wax museum. I imagined it as pretty dull and dry but it was really cool. I had read that they removed the red ropes and let you get up close and personal. It was great! The first room was set up as a party with lots of celebrities at it.

Esme flossing.
Next was an Alien part that scared the bejesus out of Asa and the girls. Then was an action/adventure/fantasy area followed by historical figures.

Then we saw musicians, then superheroes, then finally Star Wars.

We took the subway back home and this time we took a different public bus line so we could try a double decker one. When we were getting on the subway the doors closed and left Cal behind. Luckily we had a plan since the first time we used a subway in Paris that if you got left behind, you just get on the next subway and get off at the next stop so we were all together again just 4 minutes later. Now we are all at the hotel, enjoying cable TV (in English!).
