Just before we left for France, we changed the bedrooms around so Asa and Cal could each have their own room. This meant the girls were sharing the last bedroom which was formerly the toy room. It was a lot to fit into one room but after paring down toys, they fit it all in. Here is the room last year when it was only for toys. When we moved the girls in, we added a full bed and two dressers and moved some of the bigger toy room furniture to other rooms.Esme and Nova really wanted a jungle themed room and I thought we would add a lofted bed to give them floor space to play. They like to set up cities with their toys and once we added the full bed to this room, there wasn’t much floor space to play on. I couldn’t find a lofted full bed for them to share and also I wondered if it didn’t make more sense to buy them their own beds now since it was only a matter of time before they asked for that. We ended up choosing these Ikea lofted beds because they’re not too high off the ground and pretty versatile. We chose a configuration for the beds where they are touching so the girls can still sleep close together. They may end up sharing one and that is fine too. Without further ado, I present to you the Jungle Room.Entryway. I got these curtain on Amazon. They’re a little short (I originally thought I’d put them on one of the windows but both windows are partially blocked by the beds) but I like that they don’t drag on the ground.We already had these giant leaves from Ikea. We moved them to the doorway because they didn’t really fit anywhere else. We also already had that tree poster. Esme says that’s what inspired the theme.The beds. The tents are too much but the girls really wanted them. Maybe they will change their minds and let me take them down. I feel like it makes the room feel really crowded but I don’t have to sleep in there!Overhead lights off. They each have lighting in their under bed area. I stapled fabric, flowers, leaves and some twinkle lights to the ceiling above their beds.Esme’s under bed area:Nova’s under bed areaNova requested that this mirror we had be placed this way so she can look at herself after getting dressed in the morning.
