If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again.

Nole and I had a trip to Curacao planned for September to celebrate our 15 year wedding anniversary. When our spring 2020 trip out West was cancelled due to Covid we still held out hope that our Curacao trip would still happen. Around mid-summer if became pretty obvious that Curacao would have to wait. We took a credit for our flight and cancelled the rest of our reservations.

We decided to use that flight credit to do something within the continental United States with the kids and decided on the Florida Keys. This morning we took a 5am flight to Miami (connecting through Philadelphia). That meant leaving the house at 3am. Cal decided just to stay up until we left while the rest of us got a tight 4 hours.

My mom snapped this picture when dropping us off at the airport.

We all slept on the flights and made it to Miami at about noon.

We got a rental car and drove to Key Largo to our Airbnb. We bounced a lot of ideas around about what activities we want to do but we don’t have any firm plans yet. The kids and I checked out the pool and playground at our Airbnb while Nole got some groceries. I’m sure we will feel like setting some plans after a good night’s sleep.
