We went to Caribbean Jack’s for dinner last night. They had a live band and the girls and I danced.

Asa and I shared ribs and he got some crab cakes as an appetizer. Cal got jerk alfredo and Esme got plain pasta. Nova got a pound of peel and eat shrimp and ate them all. We sat in a booth that rocked but it was pretty hard to make it rock. Also Cal was in a contrary mood and didn’t want to do anything everyone else wanted. Ah, teens.

It was just about dark when we got back and I checked the weather report again. Rain all day predicted. So I packed some of our stuff into the car trying to avoid having to do it in the rain.

When I woke up today, it said no rain until later today. Score! So we went to the beach again after breakfast. Nova was over the beach. She sat in the shade of an umbrella on the beach while the rest of us used the boogie boards.

I bought a waterproof phone case for the trip and used it to take some action shots of the kids in the water.

I let the boys go without life jackets today as long as they didn’t go out too deep. Both of them had some chafing from wearing them so long yesterday.

Asa and I were using the boogie boards when he got tossed by a big wave. His face hit the bottom and he got scraped up. He was pretty upset after it and said he was done for the day.

After resting a bit, he tried again though. He even got flipped again but this time he only swallowed a bit of sea water which be declared a win.

We went to the hotel pool and the kids swam while I rinsed off all of our stuff and strapped all the beach stuff to the roof of the van. Doing this in the heat of the day in full sun was a real pain and took my about 45 minutes. Just when I was about to scream, an ice cream truck showed up and we all took a break with a treat. Then I finished up loading everything just as thunder was starting in the distance. This was the sky as we started driving to Orlando.

It rained on the way to Orlando and stopped just as we arrived. We picked up some groceries for dinner and snacks and started some laundry at the hotel. We are now headed to the hotel pool. Nole’s plane arrives at midnight and we are anxiously waiting for him to get here!
