Epcot

6/28/21

We wanted to do one day at Disney for Nova since she didn’t remember our last trip. The original plan was to do Magic Kingdom but they were sold out by the time I was ready to book. Nova and I watched a YouTube video about the different parks and she chose Epcot.

We got to the park and headed straight to the Frozen ride.

Cal and Esme sharing headphones and listening to music together while we waited in line for Frozen.

It was already pretty hot and we had speed walked over to the Frozen ride. Esme was so sweaty the program stuck to her arm! She accidentally wore her Stitch shirt to Universal so we had to wash it quick this morning so she could wear it at Disney.

We never ran into Mickey or any other Disney characters but we did see Anna. They were only doing these kinds of pictures though, not the usual meet and greets.

After Frozen we walked around the World Showcase doing most of the other rides and shows. We bought food from several different countries to try. Cal really liked this dish from Morocco.

I bought Esme and Nova matching dresses. Esme’s says “I’m her Elsa” and Nova’s says “I’m her Anna”. They’re actually pyjamas but all of our favorite Disney dresses have been pjs. They’re usually way more comfortable and washable than the dress-up kind. They had a tag on them that said they were for you and your bestie. How convenient that Esme and Nova are besties and that they wear the same size!

Around half way through the World Showcase, Cal was getting anxious about how long this part was talking. He really wanted to make sure we had time to ride everything in Future World.

We hustled and made it to Soarin’. This is the first year we all rode this ride and many others. Esme was a little nervous but ended up liking it. We did Nemo and the ride that is in the big golf ball, Spaceship Earth.

Then we separated for about an hour while the boys and I did Mission: SPACE twice. We all did the green mission first (less intense) and then Asa repeated the green while Cal and I did orange. Asa gets motion sick so he made a wise choice. Cal had wanted to go test track and we even waited in line a bit but Asa decided against it and I told Cal that we should do the single riders line or skip it. The regular line was an hour wait. He decided he would rather skip. It was a good thing we did because the ride got shut down for rain about 30 minutes later.

While we did that, Nole and the girls did Nemo again and walked around.

We met up again and left just before close. The nighttime spectaculars are resuming at Disney July 1st so we just missed that but we were pretty tired and ready to go home anyway.
