We had the whole day unplanned to do whatever we wanted. Turned out what we wanted was to hang out near the resort. The main beach I heard can be kind of crowded and we have our own beach conveniently right here. So this morning, Nole, the kids, and I packed up our beach stuff and headed to Singleton Beach.

We all played in the waves a bit. Well all of us except Nova. There were little crabs on the beach here and she was having none of it. She stayed in the shade of the umbrella on our beach chair.
At one point when Nole and I were out in the ocean, a big wave came and got all of our towels wet. Cal was sitting there but didn’t do much. Anyway, it was probably too late once the wave came anyway. We rinsed everything off (it was also covered in wet sand) and wrung out the towels and moved our camp back a bit. The kids found a little crab and observed it for a while.

We wanted to wait until our towels had dried a bit but the consensus was that we needed to move to the pool and some shade so we packed everything up and headed to the pool. They have a resort guests only bar and grill and we had lunch and some virgin frozen drinks.

Everyone was kind of “done” at different times so we all trickled back to the room. Most of us took a nap and I started some laundry to wash those wet and sandy towels.
Later, Esme and I wanted to see the other resort amenities so we took a walk. Our building has tennis courts in the courtyard. One of the buildings has an outdoor pool–that’s where we were swimming at lunchtime. Another building has an indoor pool, hot tub and running track and the last one has badminton, a sun deck and a garden.

I met a realtor on the elevator who lives here and owns a second unit that they rent out with Airbnb. Maybe someday Nole and I will do that 😉
We went back to the seafood restaurant Hudson’s on the Docks. We planned to get there a bit before open at 5 but didn’t make it until 5:15. They already had a 1.5 hr wait for a party of 6! But if we split up into two tables, they could seat us sooner. So we did just that and split into an adults table and a kids table.

Asa and I got locally caught rock crab claws. Nole and Nova got local shrimp. Cal had fish and chips and she-crab soup and Esme ate at home before we went because there wasn’t anything on the menu she wanted.

Tonight we are packing as much as we can because we have an early morning fishing charter tomorrow and we are moving up the coast to Myrtle Beach.
