We spent the last couple of days in Myrtle Beach. After loving Hilton Head, Myrtle Beach just fell flat. It was too touristy and expensive. The kids were kind of sick of the beach and it rained a bunch too.
One nice thing was that we were at a hotel on the beach so we took lots of walks there between raindrops.

With the rain, we looked up some indoor activities for the next day. We found 5 or so choices and presented them to the kids. They chose WonderWorks. We had seen one in Pigeon Forge on our way through and the kids wanted to go then but there wasn’t time.

It was like a hands on museum meets mini amusement park. The kids loved it.

We stopped to feed the fish at Broadway on the Beach. This was so much fun, we bought more fish food and did it again.
Then a storm started rolling in so we headed back to the hotel. The storm still was in the distance when we got to the hotel so we hoped to swim. Esme, Nole and I got our swimsuits on and went down. The pools were closed though because of lightning in the distance. So we had a drink at the bar. Esme got a kiddie cocktail called a Mermaid.

We went down to the beach to walk and ended up playing in the sand, making our own mosaic and playing in the water. It never did rain more than a sprinkle this time.

When we had enough beach, we went to check on the pool and lucky for us they were just opening it.
They have a small water park that has limited hours so we were happy to get a chance to check that out too. Nole went back to the room to invite the other kids down and Esme and I got a head start.

We ordered in dinner and most of us went to bed early. We got on the road at about 9:15 this morning and had a 6 hour drive today to West Virginia. Nole and I are happy to get to a less touristy area. The kids are not sure why on earth we are spending three nights in a town no one has heard of (with no chain restaurants!!).
