We arrived at our Airbnb in Hinton, WV yesterday around 5pm. The town definitely has a “frozen in time” feel to it. Nole and I found out it used to be part of the C&O railroad and had 6,000 inhabitants. Now there are only about 3,000 people living here.

I knew the street had a high grade to it but didn’t imagine it as high as it was.

In fact it was so steep it makes the kids so nervous they won’t ride in the van on it and we have to pick them up and drop them off down the block. The street is also cobblestone which adds to the charm (or fear depending on who you ask). The view is really nice from here and the house (built in 1900) is really charming (or old depending on who you ask).

There are some great kids toys here and a chess board which the kids love.

After getting the car parked and unloaded last night we didn’t really feel like leaving so we had groceries delivered. Then we ate a very late dinner and went to bed with a plan to get up earlier (no alarms though) and go hiking.
