…and this is the dam blog post

Today we flew Southwest into Vegas. It was a wonderful flight, nice and early at 7am Milwaukee time. With the time change we got to Las Vegas at about 9am.

We grabbed our checked bags and called Tobias, the man we were renting the RV from. He picked us up at the airport and took us to his shop where we got to see our new home for the next couple of weeks.

Tobias sent us on our way and we headed out of Las Vegas toward the Hoover Dam. The motorhome is actually not bad to drive. It’s a bit loud and bumpy roads/pot holes are no fun but I don’t mind driving it at all.

The Hoover Dam is on the boarder of Nevada and Arizona. The kids wanted to go “off trail” but this isn’t a great place for that. Tomorrow we plan to do a hike and I think they will like being able to explore the landscape more. It almost looks like Mars here!

The dam was nice to look at and a great place to people watch since there were people visiting from all over the world. We had fun making “dam jokes” i.e. visiting the “dam” gift shop and “dam” sidewalk. Hence, why you are getting a “dam” blog post today!

We had lunch at the dam cafe and then carried on to Kingman, Arizona.

In Kingman we bought groceries and made dinner. Everyone wanted to go to bed at about 7pm (it’s 9pm at home) so we did. We plan to get up pretty early tomorrow and do some hiking.
