Today we went to the Museum of American Innovation. My mom and Ray met us over there. Esme has been working on her travel journal and was leaving space for pictures. Today I encouraged her to take some pictures of her own. I showed her a couple of tricks about framing a photo well like deciding whether to use portrait or landscape and the rule of thirds. I think she did a great job. The next three photos are hers.

Some of our favorites were the trains, the presidential cars, and the concept cars.

Nole thought the steam generators were cool. He took the next group of photos.

The kids liked the hands on stuff the best. Some of the hits for them were the racing simulator, paper airplane making, and the mathamaticas exhibit.

I didn’t want to spend an arm and a leg on lunch so we brought one and went back to the car to get it around noon. We had a picnic under a tree and ate cheese, crackers, sausage and fruit.

We went back to the museum after lunch. We saw some great historical artifacts as well like the bus that Rosa Parks rode , the chair Lincoln was killed in (blood stains and all), and a cast of his face. We looked for Edison’s last breath which apparently is sealed in a test tube but it was on loan to another museum.

One of the last things we did was draw a picture of the what we think the future will look like.

We said goodbye to my mom and Ray at about 2pm. They headed back to Wisconsin and we headed back to our campsite.
So very cool.
