Today we spent the day exploring Toronto. We drove to High Park which has a small free zoo. The zoo has capybaras and Asa loves capybaras. Unfortunately, they were not visible when we were there but we planned to stop back at the end of the day.

We left our car parked at the zoo and took a streetcar to the harbor area.

We had a small problem on the streetcar since we didn’t have Canadian coins. The transit authority guys said it was fine though and we should just make sure to get change when we change lines. We got change at a pharmacy and lunch at our first stop. The girls tried a place called Pizza Nova and the boys got shawarma.

We got back on the streetcar and made it to the harbor. We walked along Lake Ontario to the ferry station.

We took the ferry to Toronto Island Park. There we did a cedar maze and visited a splash pad and playground. I’m getting really good and napping on the go. Our bed in the camper is pretty comfortable but we have been staying up late and getting up early.

They have a children’s garden too that is based on the Franklin books.

We had an ice cream and then walked back to the ferry station. There were some great views of the Toronto on the island.

Once back on the mainland, we walked to the flat iron building. It has a nice park behind it with a cool dog (and cat) fountain. It also had a cool tromp l’oeil on the back of the building.

We took another streetcar and a bus back to High Park and the little zoo. This time the capybaras were out!

We spent about 9 hours in the city today and walked about 7 miles.
