Niagara Falls

We slept as late as we wanted this morning then got on the road for the one and a half hour drive to Niagara Falls. Niagara is kind of like the Dells in that it has a lot of expensive kitschy stuff you can do. We were only there for the falls so we drove past all of that and went straight there. Parking was $30 which is a little pricey even with the conversion to US dollars.

I brought dollar store ponchos even though it was over 80° F today. It was pretty misty and overcast when we got there but the sun came out before we left.

We thought about going under the falls but Esme was a little apprehensive, line seemed pretty long, and it costs about $22 a person so we decided to skip that and just look at the falls from above.

We walked up and down the sidewalk and looked at New York state from afar. Then we headed into town to have lunch at a UFO themed diner.

The food was decent and not overpriced and we had a very nice waitress. We made our way back to Toronto and stopped at Walmart to restock our groceries and get a couple of other items. This Walmart was in a mall and we had to park in a parking structure. It also had a McDonald’s inside of it.

We put the air on in the camper when we got back. Since we had a big lunch at the diner, we are just snacking tonight. Nova is spending every free moment playing with other campground kids on the playground. This campground isn’t as nice as the one in Michigan. We are right next to a train track and trains go by about every 30 or so minutes but they don’t blow their horn at all and we are getting used to the rumble.
