The one with the wifi

Here are some pictures of Nova at her favorite place, the playground. This playground has some really old fashioned equipment.

We watched Ponyo on DVD last night. Then Nole said goodbye to everyone before bed since he had an early flight home.

It was cold overnight again so we ran a heater and a fan to try and disperse the heat better. Nole woke me up at 5:30 am to drive him to the airport for his 8 am flight. I got back to the camper and went back to sleep for a little while. I woke up to a call from Nole saying his flight from Ottawa to Toronto was leaving but the flight to Milwaukee was cancelled due to “crew issues”.

Since he was getting on his flight, I tried calling Air Canada to get him on a different flight. I ended up being on hold for the hour plus Nole was on his flight without getting through to an agent. I hung up and Nole waited in line at customer service.

Meanwhile, we decided to pay for wifi for the day to load up on downloaded movies and shows for the next leg of our trip. Also, it gives the kids a chance to connect with friends back home.

Asa was sleeping in today and Cal was in internet heaven so the girls and I went to the grocery store. We got about 3 days worth of groceries and replenished our grab and go snacks. Here are some interesting items we saw at the grocery store.

Rainbow marshmallows with peanut butter coating.
Macaroni and Cheese is “Kraft Dinner”.

We ran out of the grocery bags that we were using as garbage really fast and today had to buy regular garbage bags which don’t work as well in a camper. We had a light lunch in the camper. Cal had a sore throat today and the girls didn’t want to go anywhere today so just Asa and I went exploring today. The first stop was Princess Louise Falls. There was a short but steep hike from the top of the falls to the bottom.

Along the path, there was an abandoned tree house that Asa checked out.

The Falls looked man made like at one point the carved this out and built a small canal for the ease of construction of roads. The nice thing is the ledges made for easy climbing.

After resting here a bit we made the climb back to where we parked. Climbing is easier than descending so I was looking forward the climb back. We made it back up without any issue and then headed back to Byward Market. So nice, you visit it twice!

We stopped for boba tea at this sushi place and got to see their adorable robot waiter in action.

Then we visited a couple of vendors and I picked out small gifts for our pet and plant sitters. There were some First Nations vendors and a First Nations drum circle and dancers performing.

We didn’t want to have too much fun without everyone else and we were ready for a rest so we headed back to the campsite. While we were gone, the other kids used the internet, ate snacks and visited the playground. When we got back, Cal and Asa went to the tennis courts and played a little badminton.

We went swimming at our campground one last time and had beef shish kabobs for dinner (the girls had ramen). Then everyone took a shower while we have sewer access and I did my routine “night before we move” cleaning. We have been having movie nights the last few nights but tonight the kids played a video game together and then we all retreated to our beds and watched videos over wifi on our devices.

Nole got a flight to Chicago and had to take the bus from there. Air Canada only gave him a food voucher for his trouble. It was a long day of travel for him and he’s glad to be home. Monty the kitten missed him and is glad to have him home.

A blurry picture but I loved their expressions.
