Hello Ohio

Today we drove from Pennsylvania to Ohio. It was about a 7hr drive and took us over 9 hours. Nothing exciting happened which is a good thing when you’re driving! We stopped for gas at a gas station called Martin.

Around 1pm we stopped for lunch. Well the kids had lunch and I just used the time to shut my eyes and give them a break. After our break, I felt ready to take on the rest of the drive. We finished our audiobook, Fablehaven. Asa read me crossword clues for a while. Before we knew it we were in Ohio!

The site we are staying at is super cheap ($5 per night) and there are no hookups. We are at a park with a boat launch so our site is right along the river. No drinking water here though so we had to stop and get some. We stopped at two Love’s truck stops and both said they didn’t have water. The second one had an oil change place on the premises and we were finally able to get water there. Who knew getting water was so much trouble. I will have to do more research on the best places to stop for water before our next trip!

The Yatzecks came to our campsite as we were setting up. I wish I got some pictures of the reunion because it’s always really sweet when the kids first see each other. Then we went over to their house where we ate their dinner leftovers (thanks!) and the kids played while Melissa and I caught up.

The boys playing an impromptu percussion jam on the keyboard.

We decided the little girls would stay at the camper with me tonight. They’re making up spooky stories now and looking forward to a pancake breakfast in the camper tomorrow.

All of the other kids are all at Melissa and Joe’s house. I think I got the better end of this deal!
