Quote from Cal to Mary during our walk in the woods.
Today I had to work remote most of the day. I don’t have any pictures for most of that time. I made pancakes again for breakfast. Cal, Asa and Joey went to the free Air Force Museum where they spent $20 each on simulators. They didn’t take any pictures but said it was really fun.
Mary has been feeling a little under the weather since we got here and today she went to the doctor and it turns out she has strep throat. Cal had strep last week so we weren’t very disturbed by this news.
Finally around 4:30pm Melissa and I were both down working so we decided to go for a walk. Cal and Mary came with us.

Lots of flowers and plants were growing. We also heard spring peepers (frogs).

We crossed the river and looked in the riverbed for fossils.

Then we headed to the Osage orange tunnel with is an arched tree area where hedge apples grow. Apparently they were used by farmers to create natural fences on the edge of their property. My mom has a hedge apple tree on her property.

We stopped and looked for fossils again and saw this really big sycamore tree.

Here are the fossils and other interesting rocks I found today:

We were on our walk for over an hour and half.

While we were gone, Asa and Joey worked on building a dam in the creek in their backyard. When we got back, Melissa made blueberry crunch–a family favorite dessert recipe.

We had pizza for dinner and our dessert over ice cream. The rest of the evening was spent playing games and watching movies. It’s our last night here and tomorrow we will drive back home.
