“Have you slept in a wigwam?” is the slogan of the Wigwam Motel. I

The overnight in the casino parking lot was quiet and we slept great. We did go back towards Flagstaff to see Walnut Canyon. We all really liked this National Monument!

The guys went on the Island Trail. This walk descended 185 feet into the canyon and got up close to the cliff dwellings.

The girls and I stayed back and worked on the booklets and watched the film.

The kids got sworn in and we left and headed towards Winslow.

Winslow was originally made famous by being on Route 66 and then by the Eagles song “Take It Easy”.

It was crazy hot. There is a heat wave happening. We didn’t hang around Winslow for long–we got back into the safety of our air conditioned car.

We were craving pizza so we found a Little Caesars and picked up lunch. We ate it outside in the shade.

Then we took the car and camper for a DIY carwash. There were lots of bugs to remove and plenty of red dirt too!

We stayed in the Wigwam Motel tonight. The lot has some really cool old cars.

We made burgers and corn on the cob for dinner.

Finally, we went to see some 4th of July fireworks!
