We let everyone do their own thing this morning until checkout time at the hotel. I really haven’t known what the boys have been up to during down time because they have their own room but it seems like sleeping and playing on their phones fills most of their free time.
The girls slept in. They shared a full bed and Esme did not have very good bed sharing etiquette.

After we all packed up, we ate lunch in my room and headed out to our last adventure, the Museum of Science and Industry.

Throwback:

First stop, ships and cars.

Then we looked at the trees of the world and found the one for Italy.

We spent a lot of time with at the weather and electricity area.

We did the maze and “numbers in nature”.

We split up after that. The boys did the coal mine. You go down an elevator and learn how a mine operates in a reproduction mine.
Nole and I took the girls to the Genetics area to see the baby chicks.

We all met up at the weather area again to watch a presentation. Asa, Esme and Nova all got to participate.

An employee helped us take some group pictures with the Christmas tree.

I was ready to go at this point but Esme wanted to see the airplane. Nova was acting a bit unhinged at this point hence the faces in the following pictures.

Then we decided to try the Idea Factory. This area used a timed entry system which I did not realize but there was enough space for us to go in. This area has lots of hands on stuff to do including ball pit balls, water, conveyors, water guns, etc. It was a fun way to end our visit at the museum.

We took a bus back to the Palmer House and picked up our bags from the bag check. We walked the 19 minutes back to the Metra station and ate dinner there. Some of us had Popeyes for the first time!
I’m writing this from the train. We will get into Waukegan at about 9pm and then we have about a 1.5hr drive home.
Total distance walked today: 4 miles
