Working 9 to 5 (give or take a few hours)

Melissa and I worked remote today from the local library.  I quit for the day at about 2:30pm and went back to the campsite, stopping at an Amazon locker on my way to pick up a new part for our towing equipment because the old one was looking worn.

While we were working, Joe and my mom took the kids to finish their Junior Ranger booklets and get their badges.

Then we all had a pretty relaxing afternoon, laying around, playing at the park, catching some rays and chatting.  Some of the teens went for sushi, too.

While my mom and I were enjoying the sunshine, we noticed a squirrel standing strangely by the water spigot.  It seemed to be starting at the faucet, imploring us to turn it on.  When I zoomed in with my camera, it turned out to be draining from a leak in the pipe.  We were a bit delirious from the sunshine or something because we found this very funny and our silliness lead to a story we told Nova about Grandma possibly drinking squirrel tainted water and turning into a squirrel.

The youngest three went to the playground and came home with a broken Barbie doll.  Katie decided her arm would make the perfect Oreo dunking tool.

Melissa got back from working and the kids squeezed in one more trip to the playground.  My mom and I started dinner: grilled chicken with McCormick seasoning packet (smokey bacon BBQ flavor), corn and instant mashed potatoes.  We managed to eat just about every last bit of this meal.

After Joey and Anna did the dishes, we migrated over to the other campsite where Joe and Melissa started a fire for marshmallow roasting.

After that we listened to Joe’s album of the day and told scary campfire stories (i.e. did a dramatic reading of Deborah’s Google review for the local airport).

Does this guy look familiar???  We think it looks like Cal.

I leave you as a propeller plane goes overhead at 10:08 pm.
