It rained all night but it was not windy at all so we were able to keep the awning out (dryish picnic table and dry shoes kept outside). Also the nighttime temp was 50 and we were all warm overnight.

It rained all morning while we got ready and ate breakfast but this may be the greenest campground I have ever seen.

It rained while we walked into the Niagara Power Vista. And there was a huge school group arriving when we did. And they turned off the dam film half way through and kicked us out to let the school group watch it. But the museum was free and it was warm and out of the rain.

Then we stopped for lunch at the world’s dirtiest/sketchiest McDonald’s. It’s hard to find a silver lining for this one but it was food and we ate it and we’re all still standing.

The rain was supposed to taper off as the day progressed. It did not and was holding steady when we arrived at Niagara Falls. But we would have needed ponchos for the falls anyway, and we didn’t need to carry them around when not using them! It’s a stretch, I know.

We wanted to do the Niagara Falls Junior Ranger Badge but even though it was still advertised, the power museum did not have any materials. However, we were able to find another location that had badges but no workbooks. Yesterday, Erie Refuge also was low on supplies. Hopefully, this isn’t a trend. Anyway, this meant we got badges without having to do the badge work which gave us more time to do other things.

We went to Walmart (still raining if you’re keeping track) to get groceries for the next few days. The Yatzecks, who stopped to see a few more things, were getting to Walmart just as we were leaving. They picked up some things they needed and we got back to the campsite and cooked dinner: tacos and corn.
It was an active day with lots to do and see and we ended it in a sweet way. Melissa’s birthday is tomorrow and Mary and Anna leave to go back to Ohio tomorrow so we started the celebration tonight with cake bites and presents.

We hung out in the warmth and dryness of the camper before trying to settle in for the night. Tomorrow, we rise at 8 am.
