Drive My Car

We said goodbye to the Yatzecks this morning, packed up, did laundry and drove through Delaware today.  I really wanted to check off Delaware by doing something on our drive through but I also wanted to get to the campsite and settle in so we did that instead.

Nole drove today.  It was great to get a break from driving and have a chance to do some planning for our next leg in Maryland.

Cacti near the campground office!

We are at Assateague Island National Seashore.  We have an oceanside site tonight and we walked to the beach after we got here and set up because it was sooo hot in the camper and no electricity at this site means no air conditioning.

The beach was cooler and we put our feet in the water which was 70 degrees.  I would have liked to swim but the waves were kind of violent and there appeared to be a drop off where the waves were crashing so I opted just to splash around a bit and lay in the sun.  Nova promised me a mother’s day spa day and I asked her to do a beach spa day for me today.  I got a sand scrub, a sand shovel “scrape” and sea water wash.  It was lovely.

I wanted to stop at Walmart and pick up a grocery order on the way but my app was malfunctioning.  After dinner, Asa, Nova and I went to get groceries.

Data service is spotty.  After a busy week in New York, we are looking forward to a relaxing couple of days.

As we tuck into bed at 10:30 I hope the Yatzecks are almost home as I’m sure they’re anxious for their own beds!
