Either the raves are getting louder or I’m getting old

We started the day at live action Candyland.  The room was turned into a giant Candyland board and we got to be players in teams of two.  Nova turned cards and Esme walked the game board.  When you got to a licorice square, you had to answer a candy related trivia question.  Esme got stuck on a lot of licorice and she got every question right!  The girl knows her candy!

We decided to play a second game and I was pulling the cards this time.  I pulled lots of doubles and got lucky and we won that game!

Nova’s costume is “Candy Apple Cookie” from Cookie Run Kingdom.  Esme is the Red Coat Cultist from 99 Nights in the Forest (Roblox game).  Both got recognized today and had people complement their costumes and ask for pictures together.  When Nova was hanging with the other homeschoolers we saw another Candy Apple Cookie too!

I didn’t get a picture but one of Esme’s friends was here when we first got here and she has crocheted her whole outfit including a wig!  Later we saw another crocheted outfit cosplaying as Pink Diamond from Steven Universe.

We did some badge ribbon trading next.  You can see the ones Esme collected hanging from her badge in the pic below.

Esme was starting to talk about wanting to go home and it was only 2pm.  We decided to go get something to eat across the street at The Avenue. The girls shared a pizza and I got shrimp tacos.  Nova and I each got a boba tea too.  Cal texted and said he was awake for the day (it was 3pm!).  He planned to shower and then come here.  Nole said he would pick up Esme.

The girls and I went to play anime bingo in the children’s area where we met up with homeschool friends.  Esme and Nova were both winners pretty early on.  I didn’t have any luck.  Nole picked up Esme just as Cal was arriving.  I was able to give Esme’s badge to Cal so we didn’t have to buy another.  Nova went to the costume contest with the other homeschool family and Cal and I went to play some arcade games together.

We played this drumming game and got a combined score of 100% the first time we played and then 93% on a harder level.  Not too bad!

While Cal was playing guitar hero, he ran into an acquaintance from video game competitions so I left them to play some games together.  I had really bad heartburn so I went to first aid to get an antacid before meeting up with the other homeschoolers (and Nova) at a K-Pop rave.

It was crazy loud and I made Nova wear ear covers for a while.  The bass was vibrating my whole body including my already aggravated stomach acid but Nova and the others were having a great time.  I told Nova she could take the ear covers off after 15 minutes but she decided she liked having them on.

Nova really liked watching people dance.  There was a lot of impressive choreography happening.

The homeschool friends left and Nova was ready to go home.  Cal planned to stay a while and brought his own car so Nova and I bugged out without saying goodbye in person.

My costume, Scuttle from The Little Mermaid.  I made the fork this morning!

On the way home, Nova talked about going back again tomorrow but I said I thought two long days there was enough.
