Today we had a science fair with some homeschool friends.

Esme made a presentation that was inspired by the daffodils blooming in our neighbor’s yard. The neighbor told us we could cut as many as we like so Esme went over with her scissors this morning and cut enough to share with our “audience” at the science fair and with the librarians.

Cal did the “stoplight” chemical reaction which uses sodium hydroxide, glucose dissolved in water and indigo carmine. When you shake it (i.e. add oxygen) it causes a color change which is fun to watch.
